In the Summer of 2002, shortly after I started managing the Hostel in the Forest in Brunswick, GA, I began recording the artists that visited the Hostel with 2 condenser microphones. For some amazing reason, the most beautiful spirits and talented artists would find themselves drawn to the mysterious swamp forest from all over the world. All of them would come with tales of happenstance, or synchronicity, of how they learned of this truly magical place, and how they felt they needed to pay a visit. By the time they left, they once again remembered the importance that our youth instills in each of us...that importance is to play, laugh, share, sing, and simply be.
It is the intent of this musical journey to bring you as close as possible to the spirit of The Hostel in the Forest, as well as the spirit of beauty that lies in us all. May the forest be with you.
